I believe the system deliberately takes away our independence and ability to be independent. It makes us dependent on money and therefore in many cases dependent on the system. It seems to me there are only two ways of being truly independent either make a lot of money or learn to live without money as you see both are not easy. The trouble is making a lot of money is hard especially when we have zero hour contract jobs, a large cost of living and a genuine lack of opportunity.

In the old days families used to run shops, bakers, mechanics garages and all sorts now most is owned by the corporation that offer a service that is not as good for a high cost that is driven up considerable when we consider factors like the lack of opportunity it creates in our society. Today what happens is people just have jobs, they don’t have businesses and skills they just work for a corporation and in the end become dependent on the corporation.

We don’t buy our bread from local bakers, our milk and eggs from local farmers or our meat from local butchers instead we buy from the corporation. We are quickly becoming nothing more than a part of a huge corporate machine, they supply us food, work, entertainment, news and money but all they supply is highly priced, low quality and high density. Somehow people need to learn to become independent again but the corporation will make that as hard as they can.

In a society as codependent as we have become as a society (due to money) its hard to see how people can free themselves of the corporation. The government can take obvious steps to free us from the corporation but in most cases government figures are paid for by corporations and therefore represent the corporations. So to rely on the government to make the change for us is silly people have to make the change themselves.

It has to be a change in the way that we think instead of looking at logos we should consider and ask ourselves where do the products we consume come from? Have people been exploited to create the product? Does the place that you shop at pay a fair wage?

If people have been exploited and the corporation does not pay a fair wage then why are you shopping there? These businesses are taking a lot of money from towns and cities all over the country and using zero hour contracts to employ the staff and not investing back in to the area that they make their money from and they use our co-dependence to do it.

  1. Today, while I was at work, my cousin stole my iphone and tested to see if it can survive a thirty foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My iPad is now broken and she has 83 views. I know this is totally off topic but I had to share it with someone!
