We are moving towards the decentralization of the Internet or a completely government and corporate controlled Internet there is a race on between the two. The are a lot of new sites coming that claim to be fully decentralized. Decentralized video streaming, blogging, live streaming, music and news and more and this sounds exciting as many of these new sites plan to pay in cryptocurrency. But at the same time governments and the corporate media along with”advertisers” which are mainly corporations are destroying the old but still much more used and popular Internet sites.
YouTube completely ignored fair use laws and allowed corporations to claim ownership, profit and even have the video removed in many cases but YouTube were the one’s in the wrong as the fair use law does clearly state that video clips can be used in certain ways including reporting, criticism and educational.
Background music was another reason YouTube found to not pay YouTubers this one worked more effectively than fair use and this has lead to thousands of videos being completely removed from YouTube. This problem effected me and my videos hugely the fair use problem was eventually solved but this problem is much harder to solve without a complete remake.
I spent at least five months of my spare time learning to use music making programs and make music and now the music in my videos is all my own and I keep fair use clips to a minimum in fact I try to completely avoid. How are Google and the government going to silence and oppress us now? NOT ADVERTISER FRIENDLY!
When I woke up the other day I notice that about 30 of my videos had all of a sudden been with being “not advertiser friendly.” I admit that some of these videos are a bit controversial (to some no more then they are to me though) but some of the reasons were PATHETIC.
Reasons like images of cannabis, screen-shots from sexed up music videos that I notice still have ads on the actual video page and even videos abouts ghosts and demons!
The government seem to want to play the roll of our carers but in a Kathy Bates kind of a way. And this “not advertiser friendly” BULLSHIT is blatant censorship again. Corporate advertisers have never gave a fuck about where there ads are placed in the past now all of a sudden they have quickly developed a sense of morales and obligation?
If non corporate channels are going to be hit like this for slightly offensive content in many cases than the same rules should be implied to the corporate channels that also upload inappropriate content. That includes nearly every modern day music video and all these political “comedians” who are just propagandists.
They lost the argument now all they have left is silencing it over the next ten years they will either have full control or no control and the people are the one’s that will decide. If the masses stay on the traditional old Internet like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube the government win if the masses move on to the new the “decentralization” that is apparently coming the government are back to square one when it comes to censorship.
