WHY DO WE CRY WHEN THE RICH DIE?

Not all celebrity deaths emotionally touch people no matter how hard the media try.
Not all celebrity deaths emotionally touch people no matter how hard the media try, as these unsold copies of the Daily Mail shows.

Celebrity lives is big news but celebrity death is even bigger news, that’s why when certain A list celebrities die the media will run stories around the death for months and months following, the media show us pictures of emotional families that most the time probably want to be left alone, they present the death of some celebrities as sad emotional stories and for the friends and families of these people it no doubt is, I understand their grief and I sympathize with these people, I even understand the grief of the reader as reading about people that have families getting killed and leaving a gap is always sad. The media however is  most of the time just after a story to shift a few copies and take a bit of space!

Our media should spend less time reporting celebrity deaths and less time showing us the grieving families and focus their attention on the premature deaths of African children, our mainstream media seem keen to avoid this subject, they obviously believe that the deaths of millionaire celebrities is much more tragic and upsetting than the deaths of African people.

The worst thing is people in Britain seem to fall for it, to the average Brit the death of a millionaire celebrity is much more of a tragedy than the death of a million African people.

THE FACTS BELOW FROM THE WORLD FOOD PROGRAMME SHOULD PUT CELEBRITY DEATH IN TO CONTEXT FOR US.

Some 805 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. That’s about one in nine people on earth.

The vast majority of the world’s hungry people live in developing countries, where 13.5 percent of the population is undernourished.

Asia is the continent with the most hungry people – two thirds of the total. The percentage in southern Asia has fallen in recent years but in western Asia it has increased slightly.

Sub-Saharan Africa is the region with the highest prevalence (percentage of population) of hunger. One person in four there is undernourished.

Poor nutrition causes nearly half (45%) of deaths in children under five – 3.1 million children each year.

One out of six children — roughly 100 million — in developing countries is underweight.

One in four of the world’s children are stunted. In developing countries the proportion can rise to one in three.

If women farmers had the same access to resources as men, the number of hungry in the world could be reduced by up to 150 million.

66 million primary school-age children attend classes hungry across the developing world, with 23 million in Africa alone.

WFP calculates that US$3.2 billion is needed per year to reach all 66 million hungry school-age children.

WHAT’S WRONG WITH CANNABIS?

Cannabis is a plant that gets that gets very bad publicity, its accused of being a gateway drug with no real uses except for getting people high. Obviously, its not true, the truth is the exact opposite, Cannabis is a very useful plant that can be used and in the past has been used for lots of practical things. “But it is dangerous” the average simple minded, media guided, simpleton insists.

Is Cannabis dangerous? I don’t believe it is, I have been a cannabis user since I was about 14 and I still love it. I believe Cannabis can help concentration, imagination, patience and even perception. So why do certain people hate Cannabis so much? We can be arrested and made in to a criminal and even put in to prison for possessing a plant!

I have heard many criticisms of weed and some people automatically label cannabis users as junkies, stoners and even criminals for smoking or growing it, but is that true? Statistically speaking NO it is not, people are much more lightly to get injured or arrested while drunk. Alcohol is actually the biggest killing drug in the UK followed by nicotine.

As a cannabis user I am tired of listening to the fear mongering paranoia that certain people talk when it comes to cannabis and cannabis users. Cannabis is blamed for ruining lives of people that have taken Heroin, Amphetamine, Magic Mushrooms, LSD and whatever else they could get there hands on. How often do you hear “so and so is fucked because of the weed” and how often has so and so actually taking drugs much more dangerous than weed.

Weed often gets accused of being “the gateway drug” from my personal experience and what I have witnessed with friends, weed is NOT the gateway drug that so many people accuse it of being. My first drug taken for pleasure was alcohol, then tobacco and then cannabis, I believe the real gateway drug is alcohol! And I am sick of alcoholics, smokers, former speed freaks, Cocaine addicts, obese chocolate and fast food addicts criticizing cannabis users.

The truth is we all have our ways of escaping, for you that might involve necking 15 pints of Stella or a bottle of wine, snorting 3 gram of Coke, it may involve sitting on your fat ass in front of your TV scoffing your fat face with food until you get sick, it may involve extra strong pain killers prescribed to you by your GP, for some people it involves cannabis get over it!

Anybody that does not wish to take or smoke cannabis is free not to do so, so what is the problem? I believe the problem seems to be inferring, judgmental, idiots seem to have nothing better to do than harass people for not being exactly the same as them but guess what? You may find this hard to believe but some people don’t want to be like you!

Is Marijuana Harmful to Health?

Published on Apr 19, 2014

There’s just no way to talk about marijuana without someone completely misinterpreting what I say. Some of you are going to call me a fascist for saying anything bad about pot. Others are going to attack me for not coming down on it hard enough. But the truth of the matter is that many things that are far more dangerous than pot are totally legal in this country. That’s not my opinion, it’s what scientific studies show us. No one is saying marijuana is totally safe. But is it so bad for you that it should be illegal, even though it has benefits? Watch and decide. Happy weed day.

And, yes, we do know about the new study on brain development, which came out long after we taped. But as with a lot of research, it’s being totally misinterpreted by the media. Go check out the references to see a nice article where the author of the study says the same thing.

PRIMARK, THE HIGH PRICE OF CHEAP CLOTHES.

primark-dresses

Primark is owned by Associated British Foods, a company that made £783 million in 2014, Primark and Associated British Foods is a undeniable financial success. Associated British Foods also own Ryvita, Patak’s, Silver Spoon, Twinings, British Sugar and many other brands. Wittington Investments owns 54.5% of Associated British Foods, Wittington Investments also owns Fortnum & Mason, Selfridge’s, and Heal’s, a chain of homeware and furnishing stores in the UK. Wittington Investments is 79.2% owned by the Garfield Weston Foundation, which is one of the UK’s largest grant-making trusts, and 20.8% owned by members of the Weston family. In 2008, the trustees of the Garfield Weston Foundation valued their 79.2% stake in Wittington Investments at £3.62 billion.

What does all this nonsense mean? It means that somebody is making a ridiculous amount of money!

For Primark customers it means they can buy decent clothes very cheap, people like cheap and who can blame them? When we look at it, it seems that everyone is a winner. Primark customers benefit with cheap, affordable clothes and the people at the top make a fortune, whats wrong with that?

PAY-MAIN-primark

The problem is that despite Primark now having 278 stores, 167 of which are in the United Kingdom and Primark have made about £322 million pound profit in the last six months they still fail to pay workers in foreign countries a fair wage. If you shop at Primark you are financially endorsing the exploitation of children and foreign people. The Problem of child labour goes beyond Primark as many corporations are prepared to use this modern day form of slavery as a way to make money. Nike, Walmart, Tesco and countless others are guilty of profiting from it.

Nowadays it is hard not to fund child labour and animal cruelty, Primark are guilty of both as well as tax evasion, if you stand against these issues it is your duty not to fund companies that care so little for human rights. There really is no excuse Primark should be avoided as should all companies that make huge profits from the exploitation of children.
